📢 Why are operators in your printing house quitting? 🤔
The most common reasons for seeking new employment
The most common reasons for seeking new employment that I hear are simpler than we might think. Here are some of them:
🔹 Unfulfilled promises – “The printing house promised me a promotion to XYZ position, but nothing has changed for a year.” 🤷♂️
🔹 Lack of feedback – “I had many ideas for optimization, but all my efforts were in vain.” 😞
🔹 Lack of communication – “The shift from a 12-hour to an 8-hour four-crew system happened without consultation, and wages have dropped.” 🗣️
🔹 Faulty machines – “The machine I work on constantly breaks down, and there’s no money for service. It requires double the effort from me…” ⚙️
🔹 Lack of development – “I keep printing the same CMYK+L jobs over and over; I want to grow…” 📈
As you can see, it’s not just a matter of finances.
These few reasons are just the tip of the iceberg🏔️. We need to look broader and deeper, but sometimes being noticed and heard can significantly improve relationships. 👂💬
The printing houses I speak with complain about the lack of experienced operators in the market, but are they simultaneously taking good care of those who have been working in their facility for 5, 10, 15, or 25 years? 🤔
Unfortunately, not always.
And how do you take care of your employees? This is a good place to set a great example 🌟
